The Cocotte is the quintessential Vivienne Westwood silhouette. First introduced in the ‘Vive La Cocotte’ collection in 1995, it continues to be celebrated for its timeless elegance. The Nova Cocotte draws on historical influences: the corset and neckline are inspired by the high-society fashions of the 18th century, with a neckline that sweeps gracefully across the shoulders and a corset that cinches the waist. From the hips, the fabric falls in a soft slim A-line, folding and flowing with ease, with drapes reminiscent of ancient Greek sculpture. Traditionally available in heavy silk satin for a pearlescent sheen or silk cady for a matte finish, this season the Nova Cocotte is also offered in our Presence of Blooms printed crepe and Absence of Blooms crepe jacquard, lending texture and modernity to a classic form.
