Bridal - Made To Order 2023
The Vivienne Westwood 2023 made-to-order bridal collection presents twelve gowns, taking inspiration from the night sky – the shapes, colours and explosions of the cosmos. Sweeping necklines and distinct drapery define the collection – ethereal trains, capes and long line boleros orbit the silhouette, and textures of sequin, rich heavy satin and metallic embellishments give the collection an astral luminosity.
The colour palette – silvery whites, iridescent blush pinks and golds, inspired by the nebulas, are contrasted by rich reds, aquamarine and sapphire blue giving the made-to-order collection an enigmatic feel. Lower-impact fabric options include tulle, sequins, lace and taffeta certified as recycled and an FSC-certified viscose and acetate crepe satin, georgette and stretch satin. The collection is designed, sampled and hand-crafted locally in England. Select gowns, available in colour for 2023, give brides the option of a timeless dress for all occasions, prioritising longevity and wearability for future generations.

Astral
This gown takes inspiration from an archive jersey look, originally worn by Jerry Hall in the Spring-Summer 1999 Gold Label collection titled - La Belle Helene. Employing an advanced pattern cutting technique, one unique piece of seamless fabric is used to create the bodice and sleeves, cleverly draped and tucked to create the voluminous shoulders and ruching across the bodice. The Astral features an inner bralette corset, with the option to tuck the drapery to create a subtle heart-shaped neckline, which can be worn on or off the shoulder. The train can be lengthened and the long tapered sleeves, which are finished with a row of fabric covered buttons, can be shortened as preferred.
Available in a pearl white stretch drape satin, which comprises 79% acetate and 18% viscose certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). This guarantees wood fibre used in fabrics we source come from FSC™ certified forests that have been audited by a third-party on their environmental, social and economic standards. We also partner with Canopy to support their goal of protecting the world’s forests by working to eliminate Ancient and Endangered Forests from wood fibre sourcing for fabrics and packaging. The remaining 3% of the fabric is elastane.
