Bridal - Couture 2023
The Vivienne Westwood 2023 bespoke bridal collection takes inspiration from the night sky - the shapes and explosions of the cosmos. Sweeping necklines and distinct drapery define the collection - ethereal trains, capes and long line boleros orbit the silhouette, and textures of sequin, rich heavy satin and metallic embellishments give the collection an astral luminosity. The Vivienne Westwood bespoke bridal collection presents nine gowns, each evoking a distinct contemporary celestial feel.
The creation of each couture gown at Vivienne Westwood is a truly bespoke service, with every made-to-measure piece personally designed for each bride and created with dedicated time and attention to detail from the couture team. Once the bride has selected the silhouette, personalised design sketches are drawn-up and a toile is then constructed and tailored to the bride’s body. A selection of luxury fabrics, handcrafted embroidery, beading, applique and bespoke finishings are explored, before the final gown is expertly handcrafted in the Vivienne Westwood London atelier.

Angelica Mini
The Angelica Mini is a bespoke bridal development from the Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood Autumn-Winter 2023/24 runway collection. The ultra-feminine corseted look, in a delicate appliqued guipure lace, accentuates the female form with a super mini hem and is finished with sculptural spiral sleeves. The look can be styled with the Angelica hooded cape in a recycled tulle, which is certified as recycled by the Global Recycled Standard.

Luminara
Youthful and unconventional, the Luminara is a contemporary bias-cut dress in lurex crepe. The waspie corset commands attention, tracing an armour like structure around the body – embroidered with crystals and silver thread in a classic love lace pattern, exaggerating the low hip drape detailing.

Stella
The Stella corset dress is an homage to femininity. A camouflage of lace, embroidered tulle layers and leaves is draped across the body, accentuating an hourglass shape detailed with a dramatic side train. The asymmetric dress, with subtly exposed corset construction is Andreas Kronthaler’s deconstruction of the classic Vivienne Westwood corset, first seen in the Autumn-Winter 2020 runway collection.

Supernova
The Supernova is an asymmetric corseted look with a historical silhouette, the burst of embroidered pearl and crystal detailing brings astral luminosity. The mini dress has a high low hem in silk, with flowing train and a matching draped sleeve – giving the dress a romantic other worldly feeling.

Moonlight
The defined drapery of the Moonlight corseted column gown is reminiscent of Ancient Greek statues, the look transcends time with a contemporary pale gold silk lamé crepe silk, embellished with braided chains dancing across the asymmetric neckline.

Interstellar
The Interstellar corseted column gown, with asymmetric sweetheart neckline and matching full length gloves commands attention. Presented in a striking metallic silver lace, which orbits the silhouette then flows down to a dramatic 4 metre Watteau train.

Lyra
The Lyra gown is an elegant bridal patchwork look with minimalist straps, featuring two delicate floral guipure laces heavily encrusted with pearls and a silk taffeta mermaid kick train. The classic waspie corset, with defined boning, accentuates the slim silhouette cinching the waist.

Cassiopeia
The Cassiopeia design takes inspiration from the archive bridal look from the Vivienne Westwood Gold Label Autumn-Winter 2014/15 collection titled – Save the Rainforest. The dramatic layers of golden Chantilly lace create a historical voluminous Elizabethan inspired silhouette. The gown is framed on the hemline with matching scallop edges and is embellished with chain and jewel ornaments reminiscent of the era.

Angelica Cloud
The Angelica Cloud is a bespoke bridal development from the Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood Autumn-Winter 2023/24 runway collection. The ultra-feminine corseted look accentuates the female form in multi-layered tulle which gives a light but structured silhouette. A statement spiral sleeve stole exaggerates the shoulder line, with a sculpting construction beneath.
