The Vivienne Westwood 2022 bridal couture collection takes inspiration from influential women from the arts and literature – from ancient Greece to modern-day heroines. Drawing on these muses, and sculpting a look for the modern Westwood bride, the collection is hand-crafted from a rich selection of both opulent and delicate fabrics and embellishments.
Historical cuts and modern silhouettes are hand-crafted with crystal & pearl embroidery, signature Chantilly lace and three-dimensional floral details. Pastel roses sit on sumptuous drapes of lace and tulle, hidden love notes are nestled within silk and embroidered onto transparent veils, whilst opera coats, embroidered with pearls and ostrich feathers, finish the avant-garde collection.
The creation of each couture gown at Vivienne Westwood is a truly bespoke service, with every made-to-measure piece personally designed for each bride and created with dedicated time and attention to detail from the couture team. Once the bride has selected the silhouette, personalised design sketches are drawn-up and a toile is then constructed and tailored to the bride’s body. A selection of luxury fabrics, handcrafted embroidery, beading, applique and bespoke finishings are explored, before the final gown is expertly handcrafted by Westwood couturiers in the London atelier.

Marlene
This unisex, oversized tailored double-breasted jacket in silk duchess satin takes inspiration from actress Marlene Dietrich – who, in the early 1930’s, pioneered an androgynous look in traditional masculine tailoring. This bespoke look is finished with a romantic iridescent crystal-embossed veil, featuring signature roses and symbols of love.
