8th May 2019. For London Craft Week 2019, Vivienne Westwood launched Hats: Vivienne Westwood, a pop-up exhibition celebrating the skill of British millinery, with a journey through the headwear created by Prudence Millinery in the brands iconic Hat archive. Avant-garde hats will be showcased from some of the most pivotal Vivienne Westwood runway shows over the past 29 years, illustrating the ingenuity and intricate craftmanship involved in bringing a Vivienne Westwood hat to life.

Prudence Millinery is an independent couture milliner based in London and is a master craftsman in this sphere, Vivienne Westwood has been working with Prudence to create thought-provoking headwear for their runway show looks since 1990. Key hats from the Vivienne Westwood archive created by Prudence will be showcased in this special London Craft Week exhibition, dating back to the seminal Autumn-Winter 1993/94 Vivienne Westwood Gold Label collection – Anglomania.

The exhibition will also feature some of the most recent work by Prudence Millinery for the Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood collection, dating back to Spring-Summer 2017. As well as recognisable pieces such as the Vivienne Westwood Pirate hat – a variation from the Spring-Summer 1996 runway show – Les Femmes, and the tartan turban Naomi Campbell wore in the Vivienne Westwood Autumn-Winter 1994/95 runway show – On Liberty.
