Vivienne Westwood LATAM

PRODUCT CARE GUIDE

Make it Last

Please always refer to the care instructions on the label of your garments.

Every Vivienne Westwood product is the result of expert workmanship. The highest possible standard of craftsmanship is applied to every stage of the process. Our garments are firmly rooted in the British tradition of Savile Row tailoring, while our jewellers use traditional skills of engraving, piercing, fine-soldering and stone mounting. The bead necklaces are all hand-strung, while every pearl is individually hand-knotted.

CARE OF COSTUME AND BRASS JEWELLERY

Costume and brass jewellery should be put on as a ‘finishing touch’, after using perfume, hairspray, or makeup. Avoid contact with water, lotions, and cleaning products, as chemicals and moisture can cause tarnishing or damage. Remove your pieces before bathing, swimming, or exercising.

To clean, gently wipe with a soft cloth. For a deeper clean, apply a suitable jewellery cleaning solution appropriate for the material using a soft-bristled brush or cloth, then gently pat dry. Do not use abrasive cloths or silver cleaning solutions.

Store your pieces separately in a soft pouch or jewellery box to avoid scratches or tangling. Ensure your jewellery is placed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

With proper care, your jewellery will maintain its shine and finish for longer.

CCARE OF SOLID GOLD

Designed to last, 9ct gold is a precious and durable metal that retains its brilliance with simple, regular care. Gentle handling will help your jewellery maintain its form and finish.

To preserve its shine, gently polish your piece with a soft jewellery cloth. For a deeper clean, soak in warm water with mild dish soap, brush gently, then rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, perfumes, and lotions.

Occasionally, 9ct gold may show signs of tarnish when exposed to chemicals; should this occur, restore its lustre with a polishing cloth.

When not being worn, store your jewellery in our soft pouch in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep each delicate piece separate to prevent scratches or tangling.

CARE OF STERLING SILVER

Sterling silver is a precious metal that naturally develops a soft patina over time. Regular wear can help maintain its shine, as the natural oils in your skin reduce oxidation. To preserve its polish, avoid contact with perfumes, lotions, and household cleaning products.

Silver jewellery can be cleaned occasionally with a soft, dry cloth. To remove tarnish, gently buff with a silver polishing cloth or use a suitable jewellery cleaning solution appropriate for silver, then polish to restore shine.

Store your silver jewellery in a pouch or jewellery box, away from moisture and direct air exposure. Keep pieces separate to prevent scratching and tangling.

CARE OF PEARLS

To preserve your pearls, keep them separate from other jewellery to prevent scratching, ideally in a soft pouch or wrapped in a soft cloth. Avoid direct contact with water, perfumes, and cosmetics, as these can dull or damage the surface.

To clean, gently wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or polishing products.

CARE OF CORD BRACELETS AND PENDANTS

Our cord bracelets and pendants are designed for everyday wear, but gentle care will help maintain their appearance. To keep these pieces clean, gently wipe the cord with a soft, dry cloth. For marks, use a soft brush with a small amount of a suitable cleaning solution appropriate for the material, and allow to dry naturally before wearing again.

Avoid harsh chemicals, bleach, and strong detergents, as these can weaken the fibres and affect the colour. If your cord bracelet or pendant features metal or gemstones, avoid exposure to water and chemicals to help preserve those elements.

Store in a dry place when not in use to maintain its quality.

CARE OF LEATHER JEWELLERY AND BELTS

Our leather jewellery and belts are crafted from 100% natural leather. Natural marks and textures are part of what gives each piece its individuality and timeless appeal.

To preserve the appearance and longevity of your leather pieces, avoid exposure to water, oils, perfumes, cosmetics, and household cleaning products, as these can stain, dry out, or damage the leather. Remove leather items before bathing, swimming, or exercising.

If cleaning is required, gently wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Do not soak or wash leather, and avoid using soaps, solvents, or abrasive cleaners.

When not in use, store leather jewellery and belts in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Avoid tightly folding or compressing leather to help maintain its shape and finish.

STORAGE

To keep your jewellery looking its best, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat, and humidity.

When not in use, keep items in a soft pouch, dust bag, jewellery roll, or lined box, and store pieces separately to prevent scratching or tangling.

Please note that natural wear, tarnishing, patina development, and material variations are considered normal characteristics of jewellery over time and are not deemed manufacturing faults. Regular care and gentle handling will help your jewellery maintain its form and finish.
